In 2024, DNA Basketball Academy joined the West Coast Elite Basketball Circuit, one of the premier circuits on the west coast. Partnering with a few other clubs on the west side of the Big Island, this circuit gives youth of the Big Island of Hawai'i that desire to have a future in basketball the ability to play before college scouts as well as travel to different parts of the west coast.
After winning a West Coast Elite Northern California tournament in October of 2024 they were given the opportunity to join the UnderArmour Future Circuit, which gives them an opportunity to compete against some of the best teams on the west coast as well as in the nation in 2025.
Through the travel program, the youth of the Big Island of Hawai'i can come together and compete against some of the top teams in the nation.
In 2025, the youth will travel to Seattle, Washington; Phoenix, Arizona; and Cincinnati, Ohio. If they place high enough, they will travel to Chicago, Illinois as well.
While DNA Basketball has fundraisers throughout the year, local and national businesses that sponsor the travel teams help to make the trips affordable and possible for many of the youth.
Prior to that and still continuing, DNA Basketball Academy takes a team of high school girls every summer to a tournament on the west coast and on that trip also takes the players to tour various colleges. During these trips the players learn about college applications, securing letters of recommendations, and other essential aspects of the college application process. For players that wish to play at the college level, it is an opportunity to get feedback from scouts on areas of improvement.
